What: two photography projects to create an online exhibition featuring the stories and lived experiences of the residents of Plean, and how nature has reclaimed the industrail heritage in Plean Country Park.

Run by: Anne Sproul

Anne is a retired Clinical Scientist living in Plean; she does not see herself in the role of a traditional creative, more as a documenter and facilitator. As a keen amateur photographer, she tends more to documentary photography, equine, wildlife and macro. However, she has a fascination for a sense of place – somewhere you arrive for the first time and feel you belong or the opposite emotion and a sensation of not being quite at home.

The projects as described by Anne: ‘I plan to explore the shared experiences of Plean through portraits of the people who live here, whether natives of Plean or people who have moved here, like me. I will be photographing them outside of their homes and/or businesses, in the village and surroundings. Alongside this, you might spot me photographing around Plean Country Park; I love the natural world and seeing how the industrial past and mining heritage are becoming reclaimed by nature and how the park is being used by the community in the present day. Both of these projects will be presented in an online exhibition.’
