Jen bradley
The Project
Type of funding: Micro Grant (up to £500)
Jen is currently in the process of designing and building a small ceramics studio in her garden which will allow her to continue to develop her practice throughout Covid-19 restrictions and onwards. An important aim for Jen’s next body of work is to focus on discovering and practicing experimental glazing processes at various temperatures, and on various clays, in the kiln. The grant is helping Jen to keep the focus of her practice on play and exploration. With the funding she is completing her pottery studio with necessary tools, clays and build a glaze store. The pandemic has highlighted the need to have her materials and studio space close to her in order to maintain the continuity required to continue to develop her own art practice throughout travel restrictions. Having uninterrupted access to the use of materials is important both to keep continuity in Jen’s practice and also to enable the ongoing sharing of experienced processes with the individuals she work with as an arts facilitator.
Jen will document this process of discovery and aim to then share what she has learned with the members of the community via ceramics workshops, and when she will take part in Forth Valley Art Beat's Open Studio event.
More details and photos of Jen’s progress with her process will be updated in due course.
