Remembering Together Stirling (Stirling’s cultural commission post Covid 19)
with Saffy Setohy and Silvia Sinibaldi
● a small stall with a display/mini exhibition of material produced as part of the project and images/text (including flyers for the Spring event)
● a drop in plant-a-wish activity - we will have plantable tags that people will be able to write wishes on and that once put into soil will grow into plants, to take them away and plant in their own garden or possibly plant them as part of Beltane Street Party event in Cornton as this will be an activity that will be offered during the Spring event too
● in conjunction with activity above, Saffy can lead some guided/mindful movement in the garden should we have enough people to form a small group at once. The movement would feed into/inspire the wishing tags activity.
Celebration of the People of Stirling – Rosette Making with Aya Iguchi Sherry
Create a paper rosette with personal achievement. i.e I didn't have a chocolate today, I walked 8,000 steps, Best dance mover, Mother of three etc anything that people have achieved in their everyday life, from big to small achievement.
900 Memories Tree with Joanne Boyle
As part of Our Connected Neighbourhood’s representation on the day; Joanne Boyle will invite attendees to write or draw about a memory they have about Stirling on to a brown packaging tag. It could be from days out with their own family or when they were a child. School trips, concerts, ceilidhs or going for a coffee at a favourite spot.
All these precious moments will be pinned on a paper tree, to form a collective of precious memories. It is an activity that is for all ages, which will help remind people of happy memories that they have experienced while being in Stirling.
This will capture a lovely snapshot of people’s impression of Stirling and is certainly a conversation starter to get people thinking, sharing and enjoying these moments from the past.
